Week of May 19-23

For the rest of this month in Language Arts we will be reading the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. It is a story that we teachers like to introduce at the end of the school year because, it really grabs the attention of you crazy 8th graders. I think you'll like this book a lot!

In Social Studies this week, we will begin chapter 11 in the textbook. You will also begin a budgeting lesson. You'll have to find the monthly salary you would be paid working in the career you chose for your board. You will then have to budget a month's worth of expenses. This lesson is a REAL eye opener to some of you, and your parents appreciate it too.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the SUN!
